Try loading your skill bar with spirits, a prep (kindle) and penetrating attack.. or powershot or dual shot..
The doppleganger will waste time casting spirits while you shot the crap out of him.

lol.
let me guess, you got runned to ascention?
"nature spirits" are skills like "winter", "quickening zephir", "energizing wind"... they are ranger skills.
"kindle" is "kindle arrows" - a ranger preperation.
i would suggest taking distortion and backfire. all you have to do is cast backfire and watch him kill himself every 5 seconds...
you shouldnt use distortion... obviously...

favourable winds, quickening zephyr, winter, winnowing, symbiosis, dual shot and ignite arrows..
Only use ignite arrows and dual shot, leave the doppelganger to use the other skills while you kill him

For any mesmer, you can always just dump all of your points into domination, and bring a bunch of worthless hexes + backfire. Then hit him with backfire and stand around while he backfires himself to death.

You should only spread attr. points between 3-5 attributes. 3 is usually the normal, but 4 is also doable. If you spread them to 5, you better have a damn good reason, and anything over that has no point. For the sprits you bring you don't need to put points into any of the areas that you yourself will not be using. empathy, and just strafe right to left. Or bring spirits and bring kindle arrows + dual shot/pentrating shot.
